( On Wednesday July 7th in the campus of the Ionian University in Corfu, Greece  the international documentary workshop “StoryDoc 2010”  successfully concluded  its activities. Organizers of the workshop were the Greek educational non profit institution StoryDoc ,(www.storydoc.gr) the Ionian University, Audiovisual Arts Department and Greek Public Television E.R.T., in collaboration with the Region of Ionian Islands, the Municipality of Athens, the French Institute, the British Council, and the Goethe Institute. corfu13Head of Studies is the internationally known consultant Tue Steen Muller.The educational material and the program was developed by the European Documentary Network in collaboration with the Ionian Univerisity, Audiovisual Arts Department with team leader Professor Nikos Kanellopoulos.  Ionian University students participated in the workshop and attended several lectures. StoryDoc  scheduled a series of educational activities and meetings between creators and buyers/co-producers. The main focus was to promote collaborations between producers from the Mediterranean and the Middle East  and target both the European and American markets. In Corfu Storydoc team with its consultants developed 20 European projects.For the first time after years, both Palestinians and Israelis participated  in educational and cultural activities of collaboration and co-production, fact that made the seminars  unique for television networks in Europe and the U.S. The educational team (tutors) in Corfu included 14 specialists, directors, editors, script writers. Before the meetings in Corfu tutors  collaborated via Internet with the participants. The workshop included group lectures and focused individual meetings. During the course of the workshop each participant had 6 individual meetings with the tutors. In Corfu the process was observed by channel directors,and commissioning editors who advised on the market trends and guided the educational cooperation. The educational consulting process will continue via Internet  until the second part of the workshop which will take place early December in Athens.
