Tyro Association for Artists from Lebanon, Jordan, Young Palestinian Filmmakers Society from Palestine, Yasar University from Izmir, Turkey, Story Doc from Greece and Istanbouli Theatre­ from Lebanon, Arab Women Media Center are working together to make a movie with your story. When the 10 films are ready, then they will be screened all together.

Tell us if you do have a camera or if you don’t. 2 movies of duration up to 12 minutes will be produced at each country, so 2 movies will be produced at Lebanon. And you can be a part of it.

Young Palestinian Filmmakers Society is launching this call for participation in filmmaking workshop in the project " Home Sweet Home" which will provide young Palestinians of both genders with theoretical and practical training in filmmaking, and at the end of the workshop participants will produce two short films on being forced to live as a refugee in your own country. 

This call is open for young Palestinians aged 18 to 25 years old who have the desire and the will to learn the language of filmmaking. 

A previous experience is not required. 
The workshop consists o 60 training hours distributed over 4 months during which there will be field training. 
The training will be followed by producing 2 short films by the participants over a period of 2 months.

Dragon Forum 2013 Pitching – call for projects is open!
The call for documentary film projects to participate in Dragon Forum 2013 Pitching is now open. The session of Dragon Forum Pitching will take place during The Krakow Film Festival, from Tuesday, 28th of May until Suturday 1st of June. The program will include two days of preparation, two days of Pitching and one day of evaluation and future strategy planning. The Pitching will consist in public presentation of projects in the mornings and individual meetings with investors in the afternoons. We kindly invite filmmakers from around the world to take part in that event in beautiful scenery of former capital of Poland.

Films selected to participate in Dragon Forum 2013 Pitching can be in different stage of preparation: development, work-in-progress or postproduction. The only condition of submission is good, interesting and well prepared documentary film project!

 The call will be open until April 22nd.

This year's subject for teh projects is "Documenting Europe". The call is open until 17th of February and list of projects selected to participate in Dragon Forum 2013 will be announced in the beginning of March.

MEDIADESK Flanders is organizing WebDox
Conference – April 30, Leuven (B)

- Topics: At the WebDox conference, international experts will present the state of the art of webdocs. What are web- or interactive documentaries? How can you set up an interaction with your audience? How can you integrate other media, like photography and games, in your documentary project? How do you use social media and communities? What can open source do for your project?
- Speakers: These questions will be reviewed using case studies and a panel discussion. These international speakers will be present: Caspar Sonnen(IDFA), Alexandre Brachet (Upian), Jan Sulmont (VRT), Paulina Tervo,Brian Chirls, Jean-Baptiste Dumont, Arnaud Dressen (Honkytonk Films), Lindsay Wagner (Zeega), Adam Gee (Channel 4) and Jigar Mehta.Click here for the full programme.
- Who: The conference is open for international documentary makers, students, professionals from new media and games, organizations involved with social engagement (NGO's,...), web agencies with an interest in documentary and other interested parties.

Exhibition – April 28-May 5, Leuven (B)
- Projects: At the WebDox Exhibition, interactive webdocumentaries can be watched, played and experienced. The purpose is to bring the public in close contact with webdocs. The selected projects include: Awra Ambra Story (Write This Down Productions), Prison Valley (Upian), Gaza/Sderot (ARTE), Back in the USSR (VRT), 18 Days in Egypt (Groupstream), Bear 71 (Jam3) and Welcome to Pine Point(NFB).
- Pratical: This free exhibition is open to everyone at Museum M in Leuven (Belgium) from April 28 till May 5. More information on www.docville.be.
XO DOX Creative Lab – May 1, Leuven (B)
- What: XO DOX Creative LAB is the first DOCJAM Creative Lab. In this practical part of WebDox, documentary ideas are developed, disrupted and expanded. See what happens when factual ideas become multiplatform, interactive, playful and networked.
- Who: Are you a documentary producer/director, game developer, game or interactive designer with a dox interest, who wants to explore the creative and commercial potential for developing new types of interactive factual content? Do you want to gain an understanding of the different skills required to produce transmedia projects? Do you want to learn how telling stories across multiple platforms, how integrating social networking, games and interactivity can grow audiences in today's crowded media environment?
- Experts: First, documentary-ideas are developed and discussed together, and after, five experts – Mark Atkin (XO Labs), Arnaud Dressen (Honkytonk Films), Brian Chirls, Pepijn Rijnders and Patrick Bosteels – provide them with feedback. This lab generates ideas and gives you the basics to produce a webdoc.
- Practical: The Creative Lab takes place in Leuven (Belgium) on Tuesday May 1 2012. Admission fee is €75 (€35 for students). XO DOX Development Lab – May 30-June 1, Ghent (B)
- Who: This development lab is the follow-up to the creative lab. Are you a documentary producer/director who wants to develop a multiplatform project? iDROPS and XO Labs use a progressive, market-focused approach to sharpen and develop concrete ideas, and to prepare producers to thrive in the converged media environment. How do you define the outset, the middle and the end of your project? How can you test interactivity? How do you know if your design will attract an audience? How and why will your project reach an audience? These are some questions participants will be confronted with during XO DOX Development Lab.
- Practical: The Development Lab takes place in Ghent (Belgium) from Wednesday May 30 to Friday June 1. Anyone with an interactive project in development can apply.
